Incremental change is the concept of changing product or brand gradually. Differentiation or what "The Change Management Blog" described as the "big bang" approach applies to changes happening all at once. There are both pros and cons to both concepts. Incremental changes are happening over a period of time which allows more time to collect data. Watching the results of small change gives a better gauge on how to move forward with new ideas. On the other hand, differentiation would be a much bigger risk as the response is not guaranteed. From a business standpoint, employees have to get adjusted to changes as well. The incremental change allows gradually adapting to new ways, products and protocol.
